About the role
The Supervisory Aviation Safety Inspector works within the Delegation & Resource Branch (AFG-970) to lead the agency’s aviation safety mission. This position focuses on driving organizational change, building collaborative coalitions, and applying best practices to manage resistance and improve safety outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Execute and oversee the agency’s aviation safety programs and initiatives.
- Lead change‑management efforts, communicating vision and fostering teamwork across departments.
- Identify opportunities for safety improvements and guide teams in implementing solutions.
- Apply best practices for sponsoring change and managing resistance within the organization.
- Provide supervisory guidance and mentorship to safety inspection staff.
Required profile
- Proven experience in aviation safety inspection or related regulatory roles.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build consensus.
- Ability to analyze complex safety data and translate findings into actionable plans.
