About the role
The Principal Maintenance Inspector (PMI) ensures air carrier maintenance safety by applying the Federal Aviation Administration’s regulations. This role focuses on developing and implementing standards, programs, and procedures that guide FAA field personnel and the public. The PMI works closely with FAA field staff to ensure that maintenance practices meet the highest safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Apply knowledge of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) to air carrier maintenance safety.
- Develop safety standards for air carrier maintenance operations.
- Implement programs and procedures for FAA field personnel.
- Provide guidance to the public on matters related to air carrier maintenance safety.
Required profile
- Experience with FAA regulations and air carrier maintenance environments.
- Strong understanding of aviation safety principles.
Required skills
- Knowledge of Title 14 CFR (Federal Aviation Regulations).
