Foundation Quality Control / Engineering Geologist

About the role

The engineering geologist will ensure excavation depths and foundation preparations meet international dam engineering practice and that foundation grouting satisfies sealing requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist engineers in reviewing consultant‑prepared detailed engineering studies from a geological perspective.
• Interpret geological investigation data and information from other relevant sources.
• Review and comment on drawings and design documents of civil structures produced by MWTI contractors.
• Ensure foundation excavation, preparation and grouting follow international dam engineering standards and that contractors apply appropriate quality‑control mechanisms.
• Audit contractors’ quality‑control processes for dam foundation implementation.
• Incorporate new geological information from excavations into the design and recommend modifications when required.
• Conduct skill‑transfer programmes for MWTI personnel during the construction phase.
• Maintain sound external and personnel relations throughout the project.

Required profile

• Experience reviewing geological aspects of detailed engineering studies and civil‑structure designs.
• Strong ability to interpret and integrate geological data into engineering designs.
• Knowledge of international dam engineering practices and foundation quality‑control procedures.
• Proven capability to audit and improve contractor quality‑control processes.
• Effective communication skills for stakeholder engagement and skill‑transfer activities.
