Aviation Safety Inspector – Avionics (Air Agency PAI)

About the role

The Principal Avionics Inspector for the Air Agency (PAI) ensures that all avionics safety matters for air carriers comply with federal regulations. This position applies deep knowledge of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) to protect the public and support FAA field personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and apply 14 CFR requirements related to avionics safety.
• Develop, update, and implement safety standards, programs, and procedures for FAA field personnel.
• Provide guidance to the public and industry stakeholders on compliance with avionics safety regulations.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) concerning avionics safety.
• Experience in developing and implementing safety standards and procedures for aviation operations.
• Ability to communicate regulatory requirements clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
