Aviation Safety Inspector (General Aviation Operations)

About the role

The Principal Operations Inspector (POI) serves as the primary operations interface between assigned air carriers, air operators, air agencies, airmen, designees, and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is responsible for overseeing general aviation operations programs and ensuring compliance with federal aviation regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact between the FAA and assigned aviation organizations.
• Monitor and evaluate compliance with Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) for general aviation operations.
• Provide guidance and oversight to air carriers, operators, and agencies on safety and regulatory matters.
• Conduct inspections, audits, and investigations to verify adherence to safety standards.
• Prepare and submit reports on compliance status and corrective actions.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in aviation safety, operations, or regulatory oversight.
• Strong understanding of FAA regulations, particularly Title 14 CFR.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with diverse aviation stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze operational data and identify safety risks.
