Clothing Assistant (Permanent Part-Time)

About the role

The Clothing Assistant ensures that temple patrons enjoy a positive experience by providing clean, well‑maintained clothing and linens. Working under the Clothing Supervisor, this role also guides volunteers and service missionaries in daily laundry operations.

Key responsibilities

• Operates commercial laundry equipment to wash, dry, press and fold clothing and linens used in the temple.
• Prepares and sorts items, ensures proper sizing for patrons, and manages clothing rental operations as needed.
• Trains, guides and oversees volunteers and service missionaries in daily laundry tasks, prioritizing work and maintaining production records.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance on equipment, including cleaning filters, vents and changing washer chemicals.
• Provides courteous assistance to patrons, ensuring sufficient clothing supplies and handling spot‑cleaning and steam‑pressing duties.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience in laundry, retail, customer service or related fields, or progress toward a university degree or industry certification.
• Ability to organize, lead and manage volunteers, follow instructions and work well with others.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with good verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift 13.6 kg, stand for long periods and perform demanding tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
