Facilities Manager – Meetinghouse Facilities Department

About the role

The Meetinghouse Facilities Department (MFD) is looking for a Facilities Manager to oversee the operation and maintenance of Church facilities within a defined geographic area in American Samoa. Reporting to the Regional Facilities Manager, you will be the primary contact for all physical‑facility inquiries, ensuring buildings are preserved, functional, and compliant with standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and implement detailed operations and maintenance plans.
• Scope and price building replacements and improvement projects.
• Inspect facilities regularly to verify compliance with approved standards.
• Manage resources—including staff, contractors, and vendors—to execute annual plans.
• Secure contractors and vendors, ensuring work meets established specifications.
• Administer allocated budgets within defined parameters.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of related experience or progress toward a relevant degree/certification.
• Facility Management Professional (FMP) certification required or to be obtained within one year of hire.
• Knowledge of facility/property management, construction procedures, safety and fire codes.
• Proven front‑line management skills in a multi‑discipline environment.
• Ability to communicate professionally with employees, priesthood leaders, contractors and vendors.
• Legal right to work in American Samoa and ability to travel to remote islands.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
